Getting LOST.

It's been a pretty uneventful couple of weeks for us. We've been working, coming home, eating dinner, watching movies and/or playing games, and going to bed. Throw in a bit of exercise, cooking, and internetting, and you have our lives in a nutshell. Of course, we feel really busy, and all of the movie-watching, internetting, and playing games is our way of unplugging after our workdays. Things are getting busier for Hubby since it's open enrollment time for his company. His section of HR gets pretty hairy, and he's starting to work longer hours, and is busier with meetings all day long, so when he gets home, he pretty much needs to check out. And with my job, dealing with the sick public all day long (which can definitely be taxing on a person), I try to take advantage of FarmVille to get away from it all. LOL

We went to see Sherlock Holmes on Saturday (really good movie, by the way), along with a bit of wedding gift card shopping. We got an amazing baking cookbook from Williams-Sonoma. Definitely one that will get me baking more often. There are a lot of really good basics, along with some not-so-basics (croissants, anyone?) to help me bake more.

Saturday night, Hubby and I decided to start watching Lost from the beginning, to celebrate our excitement for Season 6. We probably should have started earlier (like I told Hubby, but he was dragging his feet), but we'll do our best. I just can't believe how much stuff actually happened in the first 8 or so episodes. So many iconic things that remind you of Lost - Sawyer making up nicknames for everyone, Charlie being a drug addict, Claire being the peanut butter loving pregnant girl, Jack being the hero, Locke being, well, Locke - all of it. It just amazes me at how well written, how well acted, and just how good of a show this really is. Makes me sort of forget the Bai Ling episode and Paolo and Nikki. Oh well, I know they're coming. At least I'm prepared for it now, rather than being completely flabbergasted at the audacity of the writers for even thinking it was okay to let those episodes air. Oh, and did I mention we have them on BluRay? Yeah. WAY better than watching it on HD TV. I was able to get all 5 seasons on BluRay for $108 on Amazon during one of their special deals around Christmas time. (Coincidence? I don't think so.) So we may have to skip a season or two, or just watch the important episodes in order to catch up properly. But we're going to do our best to cover as much as we can. :)

Birthday celebrations are coming up! My mom's birthday is February 3rd, and then we do a combo celebration for Robert and Papa Rodriguez in a couple of weeks. I'm going to be heading down to Mom's this weekend for some girl time, which should be fun. :) Then we get to go out with Hubby's family the following weekend.

The start of the year's been pretty good so far, though. Nothing too dramatic happened yet. :) Hopefully it'll stay that way for a while.

  1. I absolutely love Lost. In fact, I rescheduled a work meeting just so I wouldn't miss the first episode of this season! I always have to read E! Online's Lost Redux after the episodes because I always miss a few important things in the show and they're really good about reminding me of them. Maybe I ought to do a Lostie party, although the husband isn't a fan of the show (seriously...who did I marry?!?!)
